So what can I tell you about myself? Well I am a 48 year old mother of two. I live in a rural English village.
As you perhaps guessed I love needlework and sharing that love by teaching it to others. I run workshops close to home and for those that can’t attend I have a website where I pass on that love, www.needlework-tips-and-techniques.com.
I also love animals, especially my two dogs, and photography so those passions might creep into my posts here to on occasions.

Just came across your site and I sure do enjoy it very much. As I want to learn blackwork and hardanger, I think your site will help me very much. Thanks for posting it.

Well Carol,
We seem to have alot in common. I am also a 48 year old mother of two, live in a small Canadian town, enjoy photography and love to share what I have learned about photo to cross-stitching with needlecrafters.
I created the website Photo to Cross-Stitch Layden With Stitches,
http://laydenwithstitches.4t.com
about 4 or 5 years ago.
I am not a highly skilled stitcher though. I just felt the need to share all the information I have collected with other stitchers. I could not find much information on photo conversion but was certain there must be other stitchers out there looking for the same type of instructions.
Your site is packed with easy to follow guides and information that I have to add it to the “Stitcher’s Gallery”
Blog.

I envy you for living in England, where I believe the best information and products for cross-stitching come from.
Thank you so much for your wonderful site.

Hi, I am a retired Registered general/midwife from a lakeside suburb in New South wales, Australia. I have five adult children and nine grandchildren from 19 to 1 year old.
I have been a stitcher all my life, started by making my children’s clothes and then my own, have taken numerous courses over the years, have been making bobbin lace and needlelace for 20 years and have tried most embroidery techniques. Life is never dull when one is a stitcher! I am presently making a quilt for a 5 year old grand daughter which has 9 fairies appliqued onto a multi patch background. Has to be finished by April 14th in time for the birthday. Saw this site and thought it very interesting and informative, especially for someone just starting out in textiles. Well done. I will have to live to be at least 150 years old to finish all the projects I have in my head!!! Til next time, Joan
I just found your site. It is just what I needed. My friend and I just went to a local needlework show (we are in Wisconsin, US) where we both bought hardanger kits. After looking at the instructions, I think I still need more detailed beginner information. I love your site with the hardanger lessons -I forwarded it to my friend. Thank you so much!
